Adams Capital Management, Inc. Adds Director of Talent
Pittsburgh, PA - Adams Capital Management, Inc. (ACM) has named David J. Baker, SPHR, Director of Talent, a new role created to assist its early-stage portfolio companies with strategic staffing issues and to provide resources in personnel recruitment and retention areas.
The Director of Talent position supports ACM's structured navigation process by filling core management positions within its portfolio companies, according to ACM General Partner Joel Adams.
"Dave's expertise in identifying strategic hires and designing and implementing human resource systems will be of tremendous benefit to our portfolio companies as they scale operations from developing proprietary technology to achieving commercial success," Adams said.
Baker was most recently Director of Human Resources and Recruitment for the billion-dollar BATG Division of ADC Telecommunications, Inc., a service provider of voice, video and data systems for telephone, Internet, cable television and wireless companies. At ADC Telecommunications, he was responsible for three domestic and three international locations. Prior to ADC, Baker was Director of Human Resources for TCI Cable and QED Communications.
Baker began his career with the Carborundum Company and later joined the Swiss aerospace firm Contraves Goerz Corporation, where he was a human resource manager.
Baker graduated with highest distinction from St. Francis University in Loretto, PA, earning a Master of Arts degree in Industrial Relations. His Bachelor's degrees in Psychology and Industrial Relations are from Saint Vincent College in Latrobe, PA. He is certified as a Senior Professional in Human Resource Management (SPHR) and is a frequent speaker on the topics of recruitment and retention. He also serves as a board member for several non-profit organizations and is a nationally licensed soccer coach.
